The purpose of this post is twofold:

1) Share brief thought I had the other day. It's not profound by any means, but it is a good reminder.

2) Inform all 71 visitors we have had thus far that we now have the ability to SUBSCRIBE via email. No, your eyes did't deceive you-- we have had 71 visitors so far! Shibuya! More than I was expecting, thats for sure, although seems like peanuts in todays world of 5-million-followers-on-Instagram influencers. Check the menu on the top left of the page.

Back to the first Item...

Tori and I had a wonderful had on the beach last week. We met a new friend to have a cuppa near Circular Quay, and at some point he suggested we try out Palm Beach "just North of town via the B1" In reality: four hours round trip on three separate busses. Distance-wise, not far.

When we arrived, we were so thankful to have followed his suggestion. We enjoyed a lunch at Barrenjoey House of calamari: local fish and chips and the best version of clam linguine either of us had had. After, we walked to the beach. Vast. Fine sand. Blue water. Big waves. Awesome.

As if that were not enough, there was also a picturesque lighthouse perched up on the rocky point nearby and some daredevil was performing an airshow in his stunt plane above the sparsely populated beach. It was a nice afternoon.

We stayed quite late, mostly because it was just so pleasant there, and partially because we wanted the traffic and busses to be less crowded for the return (not all of our bus compatriots have discovered deodorant).

Anyway, after we packed up, we attempted to time our arrival at the bus station so that we wouldn't have to wait long. We, or rather I, didn't quite dial that in well, so while we were still a couple hundred meters away, we saw the bus pull up. Double-timing (Triple timing? We were running.) allowed us to get on the bus, narrowly avoiding a dreaded 20 minute wait when it was already late in the evening.

Tori and I both took our seats (no standing for the return trip!), and agreed that we were lucky to have made the bus. But that's the thing about luck-- it is often up to you whether or not its good or bad. Do you watch the bus go, and resign to the fact that this always happens to me, or do you run to catch up?

Not a photo from Palm Beach. Forgot to take one there, so here is one from the zoo, overlooking Sydney Harbor instead.
